One Paseo FEIR now available online!

Submitted by ken on Wed, 08/13/2014 - 14:07

The One Paseo FEIR is now available online! Just visit the One Paseo FEIR Page (sorry, it's on the WhatPriceMainStreet? site, the only place it's available.) Note that some of the files are HUGE, and that I'm working on splitting them up into smaller parts. For now, you'll have to download some big files to read Kilroy's information.

For what it's worth, the One Paseo Findings - Statement of Overriding Considerations document is the overview document, and an attempt by the City to justify placing the project in Carmel Valley, even with all of the impacts. Read that document to see what they're thinking.

Peñasquitos Canyon Electric Transmission Line Expansion

Submitted by ken on Tue, 08/12/2014 - 14:11

Laura Copic, our Neighborhood 10 representative on the Carmel Valley Planning Board, has asked me to post the following announcement. She would like community members to be aware of and be able to attend the public scoping meetings so that they can provide their input. For more information, please read the attached Sycamore-Peñasquitos Canyon Fact Sheet (PDF), or visit the Sycamore-Peñasquitos Canyon Project Web Site.

San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) has filed an application to construct the Sycamore-Peñasquitos 230-kV Transmission Line Project (Proposed Project) with the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). The Proposed Project is located in your community. The CPUC is currently reviewing SDG&E’s application, and Panorama Environmental, Inc. (Panorama) is a CPUC contractor assisting with California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) compliance. An overview fact sheet of the Proposed Project area is attached for your reference. Additional project information can be found at the CPUC Web page for the Sycamore-Peñasquitos Canyon Project:

http://www.cpuc.ca.gov/Environment/info/panoramaenv/Sycamore_Penasquitos/index.html.

The public scoping period will begin on Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, and will end on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014. The CPUC welcomes comments on potential environmental issues and potential alternatives to the Proposed Project during the scoping period. Information about the methods for submitting comments is included in the attached fact sheet. Comments gathered during the scoping period will help inform the development of the Environmental Impact Report.

The CPUC will also conduct three public scoping meetings at the DoubleTree Golf Resort (14455 Peñasquitos Drive in San Diego) on the following dates, and your attendance is welcome at any of them:

CV Planning Board One Paseo Final Hearing?

Submitted by ken on Tue, 07/08/2014 - 14:14

The CV Planning Board announced that it will hold a hearing on the final One Paseo Environmental Report on Thursday, July 24, 2014 (possibly at the CCA Auditorium.) UPDATE 7/14/2014: Canceled. The environmental report is not yet ready, so this meeting will be rescheduled based on the completion of the document. This meeting is meant to allow the public to comment on Kilroy's latest plans for One Paseo before the Planning Board makes its final decision (possibly on July 31.) The only problem? The Environmental Report isn't available yet! That means you can't actually see the document, and there's barely 2 weeks left to review a multi-thousand page document before the board hears the issue! For additional information on the planning board and its subcommittees, see the CV Planning Board Page on this site.

CV Planning Regional Issues on Town Center Expansion

Submitted by ken on Tue, 05/06/2014 - 12:30

The Regional Issues meeting for May will consist of a walk about the center to view the area proposed for a parking structure at Del Mar Highlands. This is an INFORMATIONAL ITEM and no vote will be taken. This is an observational meeting to see more clearly the town center’s next expansion phase, a parking garage and amenities on the Townsgate Dr., façade of the existing center. The applicant is applying for a “substantial conformance review” (SCR) permit. Meet at the mgmt. offices at the top of the stairs next to Tilly’s (at the far end of the 2nd floor from Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza. We will look at the project from Townsgate views as well.
